Hi there, I am very glad and proud to announce here that I've came up with a prototype of dancer2 that pleases me enough to be advertised. -*- https://github.com/sukria/dancer2 -*- dancer2 is a complete rewrite of Dancer aiming at providing the same awesomeness with the following major changes: - no more globals in the core - 100% object-oriented backend (based on Moo) - better scoping for sub-applications - better design (no more encapsulation violations, Law of Demeter, ...) The prototype I've pushed to GitHub currently covers ~80% of the DSL of Dancer. It's able to run simple applications (it can run the PerlDancer.org website for instance). Of course, with your real-life applications, it will break in many places in this current shape, and this is where you can help. I'd like to have as many reports as possible regarding upgrades tests. You can test very easily your app with dancer2: $ git clone http://github.com/sukria/dancer2.git $ cd YOUR_APP $ perl -I../dancer2/lib bin/app.pl Also, important to know: most of the plugins may not be working well. Dancer team to join Flattr?

Hi, I recently subscribed to Flattr, which is more or less a way of simplifying donations in the Internet. They automated the process of donating through GitHub, which more or less means that it's straightforward to go on a GitHub project and donate something. If the Dancer Team is willing to join Flattr, it should be easy to connect to the Dancer project and increase the possibility to receive something. Cheers, Flavio.

Cloning vars in Template::Abstract breaks Plugin::DBIC

Hi all, We're using Dancer 1.3100 and Plugin::DBIC however if we call a method on a DBIx::Class object that then makes a request from within the templates we get the following error: <DBIX::Class object->call()>: DBI _new_sth: DBI::db=HASH(0x7283538) has no ImplementorClass at /opt/perl-5.12.3/lib/site_perl/5.12.3/x86_64-linux-ld/DBD/mysql.pm line 230 This can be fixed with the attached patch, basically not using cloning on vars. Do vars need to be cloned? are they not per request anyway? Thanks Alex

This is a new runtime error that I am encountering, and I don't even know where to begin to debug this. The only thing different I am doing is that I had to reinstall Perl (and all of Dancer packages) when I upgraded to Mountain Lion. Suggestions? Oh, and the app runs fine a couple of three times of refreshing the browser, and then boom! Hi, according to Alexa http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/perldancer.org the host lists.perldancer.org gets quite a bit of traffic. Unfortunately when I tried to look at that host http://lists.perldancer.org/ I got a 403 forbidden error. I searched for the hostname on Google and first hit lead me to one of the entries in the archive: http://lists.perldancer.org/pipermail/dancer-users/2012-July/002552.html but then there were all kinds of links to http://www.backup-manager.org/ instead of http://lists.perldancer.org/ The "more information about this list" on the main archive page http://lists.perldancer.org/pipermail/dancer-users/ also links to that backup-manager instead of http://lists.perldancer.org/cgi-bin/listinfo/dancer-users/ IMHO this site is an asset to the project, that could be used better. I wonder if someone with the admin bits on the lists.perldancer.org has time to improve it a bit. It would be nice if the main page had some content or redirected to http://lists.perldancer.org/pipermail/dancer-users/ and if all the links pointed to the http://lists.perldancer.org/ instead of that backup domain. I think the html archive generated by mailman could be changed as well making it look nicer, similar to the main site of Dancer. just my 2c without any tuits to back them up regards Gabor

Dancer routes, Padre, function list

Hello all, I did a little patch, which should show Dancer routes in Padre's Function List. But I need some help ;) Dancer routes are shown with this patch, but nothing happens when I double click on it. Have no ideas why. Can somebody help with it?
