Assuming you're storing the fact that the user is authenticated in a session, 
I assume you just need the session to expire after a certain amount of 
inactivity - is that correct, or am I misunderstanding what you're asking for?

(Also, on an entirely unrelated note, I haven't forgotten about the changes 
you suggested for D::P::Database; I've just been rather busy lately!)
